Racquetball Equipment

Racquetball equipment does not have to cost a fortune, although for some of the more advanced models of racquets the price can be high. In general, however, the cost of racquetball equipment can be quite affordable.

Unlike some sports that require a lot of gear, racquetball requires only a few items. It could be argued that the most difficult item to find for this sport is often a racquetball court to play on. Some racket sports, such as badminton, can be played just about anywhere, but racquetball requires a specialized court with walls, floor, and a ceiling.

Other than the court, the other racquetball equipment needed is simple to find, and, as stated above, affordable to purchase.

You will need, of course, a racquetball racket. This is the one item that can be expensive. It certainly does not have to be expensive, but it can be, depending on the type of racket that you want to use. There are many models available both online and at sporting goods stores that are reasonable in price and very good in quality. For the average player, these rackets will suffice just fine.

For those players who wish top line racquetball equipment there are the more expensive models. These can be bought off the shelf or they can be custom made to fit you. Either way, they can run into the hundreds of dollars.

The next most important item in racquetball equipment is the shoes you wear on the court. A good pair of athletic shoes will suffice for most players. It is important that the bottom of the shoes be able to grip the floor surface so that you can start, stop, and turn as you desire.

The next piece of racquetball equipment is the ball. You can buy balls either in a tube or as a single item. Most balls are manufactured to certain specifications, which makes it easier to get the right type of ball for play. Balls can be found in any number of places including online.

Most players would do well to consider adding a pair of safety glasses to their racquetball equipment bag. Athletic safety glasses can prevent many eye injuries which are a common occurrence in this fast-paced game. Not only do they protect your eyes from the ball but they also protect your eyes from your opponent's racket as he or she is swinging it.

Headbands and wristbands for catching sweat are often included in the player's racquetball equipment bag. This is a game with a lot of action in it and people who perspire (which is just about everyone) will be grateful for having these inexpensive items on hand.
